Innovation and Information Technology for Waste Management

Usage of innovative and informative technologies for waste management aimed to apply innovation and technology to explore the types and amount of household waste to be disposed by the municipality. The study area focused on 327 households at Huay Kien Village, Moo 2, Maeka Sub-district, Muang, Phayao. In this research, data of waste in household level had been collected by interview. Smartphone had been used as a tool for survey and collect all data households and transferred to geographic information system (GIS). All information will be interpreted as the maps of households, amount of waste in each household, the municipality waste collection location for storage and eliminate. All information could be played on smart phone. The study revealed that the average amount of household waste was 1.63 kilograms/day or 374.4 grams/person/day. Every 3 days, all waste was managed and eliminated by the local municipality which the average waste weight was 1,805 kilograms and most of it was dry waste. From the innovation and technology of this research will reach to the efficiency and effectiveness and economical of local municipality in operations management which correspondence with the government policy Thailand 4.0 in term of the innovation and technology driven.
